Ready position hold: Get into the athletic ready position and hold it. Paddle up, knees bent, weight forward. Focus on feeling balanced and ready.
Split step drill: Bounce lightly on your toes, then perform a split step (small hop and land in ready position). Do this continuously — the split step is how you react to every shot.
Lateral shuffle: From ready position, shuffle 3 steps to the right, split step. Shuffle 3 steps left, split step. Stay low the entire time. Repeat continuously.
